“Whether designing a polished urban apartment, a country house, or a chic boutique hotel, we have the utmost respect for our client’s brief and the unique character of the area in which a project is located. It is important to engage and spend time with my client during the evolution of the project, making the process enjoyable, accessible and fun for everyone involved”

– Olga Barrow

DipISD – Inchbald School of Design, London UK
BA – Stellenbosch University, South Africa

From an early age Olga could often be found reading her mother’s treasured interior magazines and dreamt of redesigning houses in the small South African town where she grew up. She never imagined that her passion could one day lead to a career in the world of interior design. After receiving her Bachelors Degree from the University of Stellenbosch she realized that interior design was the career that would allow her to transform her daydreams into reality.

After a stint in advertising, she took her first step into the world of design, working for fine furnishing fabric company, St Leger & Viney, for two years. This would serve as a hands-on education in interior fabrics & wallpaper. Speaking of this unique learning curve, Olga recalls: “It was so uplifting working with the most beautiful fabrics, exquisite colours, designs and textures on a daily basis – it was a joyful and exciting experience”. Following this foray into the fabric trade, she undertook her first major project when she managed the redesign, restoration and refurbishment of a 5-star boutique hotel in Cape Town, for which she won a Decorex Hotel Design Award.

After completing a number of residential and commercial design projects in South Africa, Olga relocated to London after being offered a place to study at the renowned Inchbald School of Architectural Interior Design. After an intensive course enriching her understanding of the industry and refining her technical expertise, her portfolio of design work was awarded a Merit.

She moved on to work for leading architectural design firm Lawson Robb in their King’s Road office in Chelsea, where she focused on high-end residential projects based in the UK and abroad.

Longing for warmer climes and sunnier skies, Olga returned to Cape Town, where she founded her own interior design practice in 2013.

In 2014 Olga was appointed head on-site interior designer for the 240-bedroom Kigali Marriott hotel, Rwanda to design and oversee the entire fit-out process of all bedrooms and public areas.

We strive to create beautiful spaces in our signature style, which is best described as ‘classic contemporary’, although this does not limit our scope for exploring a variety of design briefs, styles and environments. We rely on innovation and imagination to create comfortable, elegant, timeless interiors that express our client’s personality & lifestyle.

Our projects are a mixture of high-end residential and commercial work. Aiming to remain a bespoke practice offering clients a creative and practical – but ultimately personalised design service. With a team of talented architects, artists & craftsmen, we work to complete projects within the given time and budget.
