My last post had an image of a brown tartan skirt, which I love and need. I have a very old red and navy tartan shirt which I seem to wear about twice a week. It is oooooold yes, and a super cheap department store buy (I bought it on a sale many years ago) but somehow I cannot get rid of it. I think it is the fact that it has this relaxed, lived-in look, is made out of soft flannel fabric and, even with white paint marks on the sleeve, I wear it ALL the time. Call this pattern what you want – gingham, tartan, plaid, check…it really goes with almost everything. And since we are in the winter spirit down here in the Southern Hemisphere and tartan has this kind of wintery look and feel about it, I am dedicating this post to the pattern that reminds us of Christmas, Cowboys, Scotland, Ralph Lauren and posh School Uniforms. It is even better covering a chair….so chic a la check!!
