Being such a summer person, just the thought of facing another winter (after a never-ending and super cold British one) makes me want to pack my bags and head off to Corsica. But, since such an excursion is not on the cards for now, I’m thinking of all the good things associated with winter. Cozy log fires, dressing yourself (and rooms off course!) in rich textures such as wool, tweed, velvet and leather. Tartan is back in fashion which means I can wear my 5-year old skirt again (we all know by now fashion almost ALWAYS makes a 360° turn). Shades of brown, navy, deep reds with a dash of aubergine come to mind. Now we have an excuse to wear those beautiful hats and smart boots. And with all the men going on their annual Karoo hunting trips, we can feast on delicious venison pie and red wine for the next few months. Let’s enjoy!!
